Market Behaviour & Activity :

A. Global Market Influence : Global markets presented a challenging backdrop for domestic participants during the latest session. Major indices across the United States including the S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow Jones recorded significant declines. Asian markets led by the Nikkei also faced substantial downward pressure while European indices such as the FTSE 100, DAX and CAC 40 closed in the red as investors monitored international volatility.

B. FIIs Activity : Foreign Institutional Investors were net buyers in the cash market segment, having purchased shares worth 14975 crore. This significant inflow of liquidity from overseas participants provided a strong foundation for the domestic market rally, potentially signaling sustained confidence in the underlying strength of the Indian equity landscape.

C. DIIs Activity : Domestic Institutional Investors remained on the other side of the trade, recording net sales of 10445 crore. Despite this selling pressure from local institutions, the market demonstrated resilience as the buying interest from foreign entities successfully absorbed the supply, helping the indices maintain their upward trajectory throughout the session.

Macroeconomic, Energy & Currency Drivers : Macroeconomic indicators showed mixed movements as Brent crude traded at 98.57 US dollars per barrel, reflecting a 0.28 percent increase. The US Dollar Index rose by 0.41 percent to 101.97. Meanwhile, the Rupee strengthened against the US dollar by 0.65 percent to 93.9. These developments in energy and currency markets may influence future institutional flows and domestic inflationary pressures as investors track global economic stability.

Top Gainers

  • Banking : The sector led the market performance with a gain of 2.27 percent, reflecting strong investor confidence in financial institutions during the session.
  • Pharma : This sector followed with a positive move of 1.21 percent, indicating selective interest in healthcare stocks as market participants rotated their capital across various segments.

  • Realty : This sector struggled to gain momentum throughout the session, closing with a modest gain of 0.09 percent which placed it among the underperformers.

Market Sentiment & Technical Analysis :
